Me and the RaspberryPi /8
I received a lot of request for the case to allow accessibility to the GPIO connectors.
I think I will fork the case project to let the original version as clean as I imagined.
This is the smartest solution come into my mind:
A simple slot where a flat cable can be slided before you close the case.
I prefer this solution among others especially because it doesn’t upset the design too much and it doesn’t look too intrusive even when the GPIO port is not used.
As usual, the images are renderings made in Blender 2.61 and Yafaray 0.1.2beta.
As usual, I will make this case available for ordering on Shapeways as soon as I will get my Raspberry Pi board to check dimensions.

It’s remarkable to pay a quick visit this site and reading the views of all friends about this article, while I am also zealous of getting know-how.

Hey there, You’ve done a great job. I will certainly digg it and personally recommend to my friends. I am sure they will be benefited from this site.

Wouldn’t it be great if the gap for a GPIO shield was located on the side next to RCA output?

There’s a hook over there.

Which can be replaced with two other hooks: one next to RCA jack and another right after the corner, to the top left from SD slot.

Actually if you look at the pictures it is right next to the RCA jack, in the picture of the case closed with the ribbon cable coming out the cable blocks the view of the RCA jack but clearly shows the Audio Jack right next to it.

When you can buy this case ? and how cost ?

Perfect solution!
I will need one!

This is so minimalistic that I wouldn’t mind having this version even though I’m not using the GPIO connector. Good job.

Wow, that is a very simple solution, where the overall initial concept is still intact…I like it!
