Me and the RaspberryPi /5

<< Me and the RaspberryPi /4

Other updates to my case for Raspberry Pi computer.

I worked mainly on the bottom side to allow the computer to be fixed by screws to a table, to a fixing bracket etc.

I designed the holes for dome-head screws (ISO metric M3 or self-threading Ø2.9). The shape hallow the mounting/unmounting without opening the box and removing the board: you have just to slide it up to unlock the head of the screws, as in lots of other wall-mounted devices (phones, routers…).

I don’t want to decide what’s the top of the computer when you fix it in vertical: that’s why I will provide 4 couples of holes. 😉

If you don’t want to use screws, you can apply two stripes of bi-adhesive tape to cover the holes: the available surface should be enough to support the computer.

Cool, isn’t it? 😉

how about Din Rail mounting bracket on your box i would be interested in buying hundreds of these if you can do Din rail as im currently manufactoring USB IO devices that will be din rail mounted for industrial use and the PI will need to be din rail also to make the range Viable for sale.

Another idea I’m thinking of is to make available top and bottom part separately, so that this could be a system where the user can choose among different top and bottoms. Actually The DIN rail could be an option…

You can make a single 4-way mounting hole in the shape of a plus sign.

Not so much space for this solution.

Eh, not enough space for two holes instead of eight?

Yes: the overall dimension of the cross-shaped hole is more than the width of the flat zone where I put the holes.
Maybe I can join the holes for the horizontal fitting, but not for the vertical direction.
